The Return home feature enables you to fly the Bebop 2 back to:
the last take off location.
To locate your position on the map, FreeFlight 3 must have access to your smartphone location services.
For iOS devices, activate the function in Settings > FreeFlight 3 > Location service.
For Android devices, activate the function in Settings >Application manager > FreeFlight 3 > Permissions.
*Note: the Return home feature cannot be activated if your Bebop 2 is not receiving a GPS signal.
To activate Return Home:
On the piloting screen, tap for Bebop 2 to return to its last take-off position (the button turns green). Upon arrival, Bebop 2 will hover at about 6 ft/2 m off the ground.
Once Return Home is activated, Bebop 2 will rise to an altitude of 60 feet and fly towards the last take-off position in a straight line.
Warning: Bebop 2 cannot automatically avoid any obstacle in its path during Return Home flight. Make sure the flight path is clear and you have established line-of-sight with the drone before activating Return Home.
If the connection between your smartphone and the Bebop 2 is lost, Bebop 2 returns to its starting point automatically after a certain period of time. You can change this time in Return Delay.
To change Return Delay:
in FreeFlight 3, tap to open Settings. Swipe across the screen until you see the "RETURN TO STARTING POINT" page.
At the bottom of the page, tap the number. Use the keypad to enter a new time, and tap OK.
Map mode lets you see the position of your Bebop 2 on a satellite map instead of the live video feedback.
Before activating the map mode:
Preload a map. If you fly the Bebop 2 in an area without Internet connection, or if the Internet connection is lost while flying, your Bebop 2 can still be located on the map.
Wait for the green icon to indicate the Bebop 2 GPS position is detected.
Preloading a map
1. Go to the main screen of FreeFlight 3.
2. Go to > Settings.
3. Tap Map preloading. The blue dot indicates your current position.
4. Tap Preload , w ait until preloading completes.
Activating map mode
On the piloting screen, tap
The icon indicates your smartphone's position.
The icon indicates Bebop 2's position. To switch back to live video mode, tap again.
How works a Return To Home ?
The position of Home is chosen by order of priority in the following list (this can't be changed by users) :
Position of the drone at the moment of Take-Off if GPS fix if available
Position of the controller (Smartphone/tablet) at the moment of Take Off (if available)
Position of the first GPS fix of the drone if GPS fix is not available when taking off
The altitude of Return To Home is the maximum between the current altitude and 20 m, it doesn't go to the highest altitude reached during the flight.
The drone Return To Home at 8m/s.
With FreeFlight Pro
On the main page, press the name of the last connected drone to see the serial number, the latest GPS coordinates, the firmware version installed in the drone.
With FreeFlight 3
The serial number and last GPS coordinates can be found on FreeFlight 3 app :
Select Settings from the main page on FreeFlight 3
Select on "Details on the last connected drone"
Make a capture of the screen with the Serial number of your drone and Skycontroller (if available)
Change the network name of your Parrot Bebop Drone:
Change the Parrot Bebop Drone name in the Product name field.
Reboot the Parrot Bebop Drone .
Note: The network name of the Parrot Bebop Drone can only contain letters, numbers and underscores ("_"). It must not exceed 32 characters in length.
Set a password for your Parrot Bebop Drone 's Wi-Fi network.
Select your country.
Connect the Parrot Bebop Drone to the 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands.
The 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band enables you to fly the Parrot Bebop Drone from a greater distance. It is generally more congested than the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band in urban areas.
The 5 GHz Wi-Fi band enables you to obtain a better quality connection between the Parrot Bebop Drone and your smartphone for streaming footage. Check your smartphone user guide (or the technical specifications) to see whether it supports connection to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. If it does not, use the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band only.
To switch the Wi-Fi band (2.4 GHz or 5 Ghz) manually without using the application, hold down the on/off button of the Parrot Bebop Drone for 6 seconds .
Note: The diagram at the bottom of the screen shows the state of the Wi-Fi channels.
Before flying the Parrot Bebop Drone , ensure that you comply with the Wi-Fi frequencies restrictions for the area in which you intend to fly. Certain frequencies may be restricted or forbidden. Selecting the country and activating the outdoor option enable FreeFlight Pro to adapt the available channels according to the legislation of the selected country.
For example, in certain countries using the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band may be prohibited in outdoor mode.
In automatic mode, FreeFlight Pro automatically selects a channel according to the country, the mode (outdoor/indoor), and the Wi-Fi band selected and the congestion of the channels.
If you encounter a problem with the quality level of the Wi-Fi connection:
Select Manual mode.
Select a non-overloaded channel using the information displayed on the diagram.
How to reset the Parrot Bebop 2 ?
Switch on the Parrot Bebop 2.
Wait until the LED of the Parrot Bebop 2 stops blinking.
Press the power button during 10 seconds. > THe LED lights blinks then the Parrot Bebop 2 reboot. this step can last a few minutes. The reset procedure is completed after the Parrot Bebop 2 restarts.

Barometer error - the dorne checks that the sensors are available before taking off. restart the drone and check mecanical integrity before take off. If the situation persists please contact the Customer Service.
Vertical camera error - restart the drone, check if the vertical camera is well plugged. If the situation persists, please reach the Customer Service.
When reaching the customer service, please share screenshots of the error message, the serial number of the drone and a detailed description of the situation.
When booting, the Parrot Bebop 2 checks the access to the sensors. If the message "Barometer problem" is displayed, restarting the drone permits to clear the message. If the message persists after several launch, please save a screenshot and contact your local Customer Service.
Vertical camera problem
The vertical camera permits to stabilize the flight of the drone, avoiding to drift by viewing the "patterns" on the ground to get a fix location. Flying above a contrasted surface permits to avoid drifting.
On the ground : the drone won't take off, the alert message will be displayed on the app.
On the air : the drone may become unstable (depending on the wind and external elements) and drift, the alert message will be displayed on the app.
Possible solution : The vertical camera may be disconnected, refer to "how to repair" articles in order to plug the vertical camera. The camera may be dirty and needing to be cleaned with a cloth.
If the battery doesn't charge, check that the wall adapter is well connected (a "clic" sound can be heard when it's in place).
If the LED charger blink red when plugged on the wall, then the charger detects a defect and alerts that the battery cannot be charged. We recommend to reach the place of purchase to know more about warranty and solutions available.

Here is the steps to follow to be able to copy internal pictures of the Bebop using the computer and Wi-Fi.
Note that on Mac computers there is two ways to access the drone, using cmd+k or Firefox (or Filezilla ftp).

In this section, we will address a few topics that might help both the novice and experienced pilots to troubleshoot their Bebop 2.
The power/LED button is located on the back of the drone, directly below the battery. In addition to being the navigation beacon, the LED indicates various states of the drone.
When the LED is:
Steady red - Bebop 2 is in normal state
Sed and blinking slowly - Bebop 2 is booting up
Sed and blinking quickly - a motor error is detected
To locate the defective motor:
In FreeFlight 3, tap Start.
Tap to open SETTINGS.
Swipe left or right until you see MOTOR INFORMATIONS, where motors status is displayed. Locate the defective motor as indicated on the screen and check whether its propeller is blocked or damaged.
Video and photo
Try to decrease the speed by lowering the inclination angle; in addition, check the rotation angle. The slower the drone moves, the better the video quality.
*Note: for best video quality results, reduce all piloting controls to their minimum settings.
The apparent "jittery" (or jello) effect could be a hardware issue.
Mechanical / Hardware - Check propellers and motor mounts for any visible signs of damage. With the drone's power turned off and the battery removed, spin each propeller to verify the motor shafts are rotating straight (propellers should not "wobble" as they spin).

There are grey lines on my smartphone/tablet
Check the WiFi connection on your smartphone or tablet. make sure you have selected an unpopulated band.
My smartphone doesn’t show a WiFi connection after turning on the drone.
It takes a few seconds for the drone to complete the booting sequence and establishes a connection. Wait for the rear LED to stop flashing, then check the connection again.
Sometimes, your smartphonedrone will show that it is to the drone before FreeFlight 3 recognizes the connection, if this happens, wait a few more seconds and check the connection again.
When I take off, my Bebop 2 flips over
Make sure the propellers are installed in the correct order. See Getting Started > Mounting the propellers
Tap Flat Trim before each take off.
My bebop 2 drifts sideways during take off
Make sure the take-off area has distinct ground features, in good lighting and not in a uniformed color (for example, an all-white floor); darkness and uniform surfaces can disorient the drone’s down-facing camera.
*Note: always flat trim the Parrot Bebop 2 before each flight.
My Parrot Bebop 2 keeps rising without my control
This could be an issue with either the ultrasonic sensor or the barometer.
If the drone keeps rising to a height about 9 ft., that means the ultrasonic sensor is not reading the ground below accurately. Try to reset MAX ALTITUDE and VERTICAL SPEED to the lowest settings and launch again.
If the height is over 9 ft. - the barometer is not able to correctly sense the changes in altitude. Try to reset MAX ALTITUDE and VERTICAL SPEED to the lowest settings and launch again.
If the problem presists, we recommend that you reset all settings to their default values and start fresh.
My bebop 2 keeps falling from the sky
Check the battery level, make sure the battery is always fully charged prior to each flight.
Check the propellers, make sure they are securely mounted.
I can't remove my propellers
When using the propeller removal tool to remove the propellers, make sure not to turn the tool too far to ensure the holes are aligned with the screws.

Before each flight check list
Battery Make sure the battery housing is intact and the terminal is clean. STOP using/charging the battery IMMEDIATELY if the housing is cracked, punctured, or deformed. Dispose of any used battery in compliance with your local safety regulations.
Charger Inspect the charger, make sure the housing is intact with no visible damage and the contacts are clean. STOP using the charger IMMEDIATELY if the housing is cracked, punctured, or deformed. Dispose of any discarded charger in compliance with your local safety regulations.
Propellers Check the propellers for any visible damage; a bent blade could cause instability in flight, which could result in loss of control (and in turn crash the drone). In addition, make sure the propellers can still be securely mounted to the drone.
Camera Check for any visible damage to the lens. Blemishes on the lens could affect photo and video quality.
Airframe Check for any structural fatigue or damage to the central cross, make sure the wires connecting the motors and antennas are secured to the airframe. Remove any dirt or grime that may have accumulated in the motor housings, battery contact, and USB port.
Landing feet Check for any structural fatigue or damage, make sure the Wi-Fi antennas are secured to the two front feet.
Overall wear and tear Check the drone for any visible damage. Remove any dirt or grime that may have accumulate between the central cross and the upper body. STOP using the drone immediately if any wire or electronic component appears damaged (bare wire, warped PCB, etc.)
Store the battery away from direct sunlight in a cool and dry place where the ambient temperature is below 140°F/60°C. If you plan on not flying your Bebop 2 after 50 th flight, run the battery to 50% capacity before storing.

Maintenance and cleaning
Camera If necessary, use only designated lens-cleaning material for cleaning to avoid inadvertent damage to the lens.
Airframe You may use compressed air to remove any dirt or grime that may have accumulated in the motor housings, battery contact, and USB port. DO NOT use any moistened material for cleaning.
Propellers Remove propellers from the drone prior to cleaning; use a dampened cloth to wipe down the blades. Make sure the propellers are completely dry before mounting.
You can share flights data using social networks and email. To do so, you nee to register on Parrot Cloud : Academy and using a valid internet connection. There is 2 boutons "Send Piloting" / "Share" .
The data sent via email is a json file. Using third party tools like Flight Data Manager permit to process data shared.
1. Where can I find the software version of my Parrot Disco? First, connect to your Parrot Disco, then in the FreeFlight Pro application, click on the name of your device (Example: DISCO-891012)
Finally, on the next screen you will see various information about your Parrot Disco, including its software version

MyFlights lets you see your flight history, we recommend you to register in order to have access to Academy/Parrot Cloud. Being registered permits you to retrieve and share your flight data.
Settings section lets you set the controls, GPS features, the First Person View behavior, and Wi-Fi settings; make sure the Wi-Fi settings are compliant with local laws of the selected country/region.
FPV (First Person View)
Auto Launch - Set default to Disable or enable FPV.
Eye Spacing - Adjusts the spacing between left-eye and right-eye views in FPV mode.
Note that FPV is not available when using a tablet.
Piloting mode - Choose your preferred control method.
Roll stabilization - As the drone turns, roll stabilization enables the image to remain parallel (not tilted) to the ground plane. Thias applies to both FPV and normal camera views.
Max inclination - The larger the angle, the faster the Bebop drone / Bebop 2 flies. Not applicable to Parrot Disco.
Maximum tilt speed - Limits the speed of the drone in level flights.
Maximum vertical speed - Limits the drone's ascending/descending speed.
Maximum rotation speed - Limits the drone's speed when rotating.
Banked turn (for Bebop Drone and Bebop 2) - Enables the drone to turn like a fixed-wing aircraft.
Position, Distances and Limits
Flat Trim - Resets the internal sensors for level flight for your Bebop Drone, Bebop 2, and Parrot Disco; make sure you always Flat trim the drone on a flat surface.
Calibrate - From time to time the Bebop 2 needs to be recalibrated, we recommend that you calibrate before each flight.
Max/Min altitude - Limits the height at which the drone can fly.
Max Distance - Limits the drone's range. You will be notified when your Bebop 2 reaches this value.
Geofence - When max distance is set and Geofence is activated, Parrot Bebop 2 will return to the starting position when it reaches maximum distance.
*Note: If Geofence is not activated, Bebop 2 will not return after it reaches max distance.
Return Home (RTH)
Return Delay after disconnection - Limits the disconnection time before the drone initiates return home.
Network Name - Lets you change the name of your drone. Activate WPA2 to set a password for your Bebop 2's Wi-Fi network.
Location - Select the country/region you are in. Activate OUTDOOR for flying outside.
Wi-Fi band - You may choose Wi-Fi channel and band or leave the setting on automatic select.
*Note: The network name of the Bebop 2 can only contain letters, numbers and underscores ("_"), and must not exceed 32 characters in length.
At the piloting page, press on the left side of the record button to access the recording setting.
Choose between video, photo, and time-lapse mode photography, you can also adjust refresh rate, white balance (to augment ambient light in your environment), as well as exposure (via the red sliding bar).
Exposure can be set by sliding the cursor.
You can set the framerate (24, 25, or 30 fps), the bitrate (20 or 30 Mbps), the refresh rate, and the White Balance for video recording.
Video recording starts automatically when you press the Take-off button. The RECORD icon flashes during video recording.
Framerate - The framerate you choose will have an impact on the timeline when the movie is imported to a video editing software. Set the framerate you need before taking off. By default the framerate is set to 30 fps.
Bitrate - You can choose between maximizing the recording capacity (20 Mbps), or getting the best video quality (30 Mbps).
For photo mode, you can set refreshing rates to auto, 50 Hz, or 60 Hz, in addition to adjust for white balance and exposure.
Time-lapse lets you take photos at preset intervals. Use the white slider on the right to set the interval between 1 to 300 seconds.
*Note: Picture format for time-lapse mode is the same as photo mode.
The map is accessible using the satellite/map button on the lower right side of the piloting interface.
