I wish changes were documented.. in ios
I have to give FF mini permission to use the iPad camera to take pictures of the drone or iOS force closes the app every time.
I assume its some sort of new undocumented ios security where the os figures out the drone has a camera and therfore the app should be shot down if it tries to use the camera without camera permissions? The video feed shows on the home screen though. The forceclose is when I press "start" without ff mini camera permission enabled in setup-> free flight mini
there is a bug in ff mini. I press the picture and record button on the phone screen but ff mini says no pictures or videos and that the sd card is empty. But when I pull the sd card out and put it in the phone the pics and videos are there.
It is still unclear what buttons on the flypad are for video rec start/stop and which for bottom cam snapshot and which for fpv cam snapshot.
The instructions and KB are woefully lacking as typical here.
Nice drone though! The camera quality is much better than most (toy) drones.
I received my Mambo FPV today and have already had a few ups and downs with it.
First it all worked well, drone and camera connected and I was able to fly in FPV.
Then suddenly nothing connected anymore besides the Flypad.
After a lot of time spent problemsolving I was able to connect everything again and fly the drone in FPV again.
But now I can connect the drone to the smartphone reliably, but the camera doesn't show up in the app anymore (the WiFi network does and I am connected to it). So the situations is such that I am connected to the camera by WiFi but the app doesn't show any feed from the camera or give me the option to switch to FPV.
Hard reset,if that doesnt help, connecting mambo and flypad trough the phone and then installing camera, turning On and the Off Airplane Mode in phone before connecting phone with mambo and flypad, reseting the phone.....just few suggestions of top my head
This is not absolutely true. It is not logical to connect new flight modes to FPV accessory camera.
I just finished updating (in order):
1. FreeFlight Mini Application (android) becoming 5.0.3
2. Parrot Mambo firmware upgrade that becomes 3.0.3
Also connected with Flypad and
it works all in wonder, even the three new ways of flying, WITHOUT NO FPV CAMERA ACCESSORY.
The new modes are very interesting, but I still have to test them well. Of course, the chances of crash / damage increase greatly
Also bug fixes that interested the flypad.
Are you sure because another user told me that you will unlock the modes only when you place the camera
Hi,right now there is new FreeflightMini app for ipad/iphones only, android is still not updated....you need to install new FreeflightMini to install new mambo firmaware that will let your old mambo be compatible with new camera.....once firmware is installed you will be able to see all features but they will be Locked......it looks like this, its called Piloting style and as you can see its locked, where Piloting Mode is not....once you place camera in Mambo piloting style will be unlocked
My bad - I was confused as to the capabilities of my Mambo vs my Bebop2. I see that the Mambo is BLE4 only, no WiFi.
I'm new to drones and want to start programming them (been programming professionally for 30 years). I'm sure I'll have more, hopefully relevant, questions
Concerning using tynker on a PC (running windows) or a Mac : https://appsformacpc.com/tynker-learn-to-code/
Not sute if you can do the same on a linux pc without using the android sdk to emulate a device (which would be somewhat less then optiman anyway).
Is there any alternatives to tell the mambo to execute a list of predefined actions like you could with tynker ?
I got solution for my case. I just reinstall FreeFlight mini app, but before delete app I deleted all cache related to this app. Again reset mambo. After that, connection was established immediately.
I hope it will help someone.
Thanks Skydreamer for advice too.
Hi I'm new to this drone thing. I had a propeller fly off its shaft upon take off after a crash. After inspecting the prop and motor, I found the prop was very loose on the motor shaft comparted to the other props and doesn't sit entirely flush. Do I need a replacement prop or a replavement motor? And is there a correct position/placement that's not covered in the manual? I noticed one black prop and one white prop had silver paint at the hub, while the other black and white props did not. Thanks for the help!
Replace prop.....there is two counterclockwise propellers and two clockwise propellers ,silver paint is on counterclockwise props, its there to make easier for people to recognize which one is which.....
Hi guys! I've fried my first motor on my Mambo, time to do a repair. For whatever reason, in South Africa, the parts are labelled very strangely on the websites that sell them, I am assuming that as long as I have the orientation right, that I can use motors intended for Swing and Spiders too? I have ordered a motor intended for a Rolling Spider, tell me I will be fine, so I can sleep tonight. 😂
Hi....it should fit
